Welcome to the KB8UYZ amateur radio page (ham radio)
Welcome to the KB8UYZ Web Page

Welcome to the KB8UYZ Web Page. This page is about amateur radio. I've been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1993, most of that time operating from Lansing, Michigan. After a quick move to Petoskey, Michigan in the summer of 2004, I have permanently relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio.

My main interests are 6m and 2m SSB, although I occasionally get on 10m. The primary rig for 6m is a Yaesu FT-100D, running 100 watts into a 3-el beam at 30-ft. I also have an assortment of older "boatanchor" radios that I play with. I also enjoy 220, but where I'm located, there's not much on that band.

The main rigs are a Yaesu FT-100D, a Yaesu FT-8900 and an FT-2600. I also like to collect and restore vintage "Boatanchor" radios, primarily Hammarlunds, Hallicrafters, and Heathkits.

I operate a lot of VHF contests and I will QSL 100% the traditional way. I DO NOT use eQSL or any other electronic QSL service. Please send requests to me direct at the address on the card shown above.
